Project Description

CEI provided environmental permitting support for this pier reconstruction/expansion project in Boston Harbor. Completed for the MA State Police, this project included consultation and negotiation with permitting agencies and coordination with project designers and architects. The project also involved resource area delineation in accordance with state and federal authorities and preparation of applications to local conservation commission, state, and federal bureaus.

Located in a heavy traffic and highly developed area within Boston Harbor, this project was situated adjacent to the MDC flood control plant at the mouth of the Charles River. Issues included environmental concerns based on the proximity of the proposed construction and surrounding natural resources and the potential expanded use of the facility by the MA State Police.
