Project Description

CEI worked with the Town of Pembroke to demonstrate the reduction of impervious surfaces within the Oldham Pond Watershed. CEI identified heavily used areas within the watershed to remove impervious surface and implement infiltration based solutions.

Locations included the town tennis courts where pervious asphalt was installed along walkways located outside of the playing areas. Similarly, at the Town Landing, pervious pavers were installed to replace the existing boat ramp which was in need of repair. The surrounding area was replaced with porous asphalt.

This project was implemented to help improve the water quality of surrounding waterways while showcasing how Infiltration based green street solutions can be used in a variety of situations.
