Project Description
CEI provides ongoing wetland monitoring, ecological investigations, wetland mitigation design, and associated regulatory support for the Industriplex Superfund Site in Woburn, MA. CEI’s Robert Hartzel led development of a wetland/surface water mitigation plan for the Site that included wetland delineation, design of wetland creation areas, wetland and floodplain habitat enhancement, and improvement of aquatic habitat through construction of a fish ladder for anadromous species. He also led development of the Performance Standards and Applicable or Relevant & Appropriate requirements (ARARs) Attainment Plan for the Site and related coordination with USEPA. Ongoing work includes annual monitoring and reporting for wetland creation and habitat improvement areas, and development of a field protocol for survey of freshwater mussels within the Aberjona River (field survey conducted in summer 2021).
