Project Description
CEI was retained by the New Britain YMCA to prepare plans, specifications and permits for revamping their existing parking lot. CEI provided plans and design details for the required improvements including pavement, drainage, concrete sidewalk, curbing, brick pavers, segmental retaining walls, turf establishment, pavement marking plan, and plantings. CEI utilized standard City and/or ConnDOT specifications for the work and provided special provisions for ancillary improvements items such plantings, pavers etc. CEI assisted the YMCA in bidding the construction work and reviewed the project bids for compliance with the plans. The design provided for two location for egress and ingress for better traffic flow at time of high usage. CEI incorporated green infrastructure by using innovative island plantings that also functioned as rain gardens to meet storm water quality and detention goals. CEI performed periodic inspections of the work, processed payment requests, and handled any change order issues. CEI provided closeout documentation for the work.
