Project Description

This project involves ongoing Source Registration and TURA Reporting for an industry that manufactures ink cleaning compounds for the printing industry. Based on air emission calculations using potential emissions, the facility was defined as a major source. However, actual emissions were much smaller than the major source thresholds. As a result, CEI filed a Restricted Emission Status (RES) to avoid major source permitting. This involved calculation of emissions from their packaging process, which includes a series of underground storage tanks, blending tanks and packaging into 55-gallon drums. CEI updates these calculations annually for TURA and Source Registration permitting.
