Case Study - MTBE Contaminated
Water Source Treatment Feasibility

This project involved the evaluation of the feasibility of returning the District's main production well to service after the well had been shut down due to MTBE contamination from a nearby gas station. Additionally, a new supplemental well source required Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) source approval before a pumping facility could be constructed and the well placed into service. CEI was retained to determine the feasibility of returning the contaminated well to service with treatment and to obtain new source approval for the supplemental source.
