CEI has taken a leadership role in stormwater management and engineering as a result of deficiencies we found in several areas of this rapidly developing science. We began our influence on the state of the art in stormwater management by winning the professional category of a
contest put on by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the
U.S. EPA. More recently, CEI found as a part of engineering review work that many of the designs being
proposed today are deficient, so the firm developed a set of
design criteria, now published and available on our website, to address these widespread deficiencies. The firm has also developed many innovative designs that are being used in towns in several states to better address private development and design review.
