CEI updated the State of Maine Department of Environmental Protection's stormwater guidance manual to be consistent with new stormwater regulations and to combine existing stormwater manual into one document. The result was three volume manual geared towards environmental groups, developers, community officials and others describing the problems associated with stormwater and traditional controls and design guidelines for implementing the new controls allowed by DEP for the protection of Maine's water resources. CEI also developed Low Impact Development (LID) design guidelines and pretreatment standards that were incorporated into the manual. CEI lead a LID workshop for Maine engineers and local officials during development of the manual and provided training on the new design guidelines.
Highlights
- Incorporating additional design criteria, including Low Impact Development (LID) concepts and enhanced maintenance into the manual
