CEI has experience in solid waste management, including land application, sludge management and landfill closure/transfer station design. For example, Comprehensive Environmental Inc. (CEI) was the prime contractor working for the Town of Scituate to design a multi-building transfer station at the landfill site for resident drop-off of solid wastes and recyclables. The project included permitting and design of the 12,000 s.f. transfer building, 6,000 s.f. recycling building and a 700 s.f. administrative office building. Permitting with the Southeast Region of MADEP included obtaining the Authorization to Construct (ATC). Development of bid documents including stamped construction drawings and contract specifications was included. Construction services included on-site inspection and oversight with administrative construction services. CEI also designed the landfill closure, including preparation of all the initial and comprehensive permitting documents, installation of monitoring wells and gas collection, and inspection services during closure. In addition, CEI has continued to perform cost-effective landfill monitoring services since the closure.
