Professional Development
In our constantly changing and evolving environment, we understand and value the importance of professional development activities at all levels. In fact, we encourage and wholeheartedly support our team's efforts to further their careers in this manner. Whether it be through learning, teaching, writing, communicating, or simply participating, we feel that educating ourselves, educating others and networking are the key to our employees professional growth and CEI's success.

Here are just a few of the Professional Development areas CEI supports.

  • Professional Registration/Licensure - CEI encourages all employees to obtain professional registrations and licenses applicable to their field of expertise. CEI will reimburse employees for this expense, as well as the various requirements to maintain these credentials, on a case by case basis.

  • Professional Societies/Organizations - We encourage all employees to actively be a part of and engage in professional society activities and events related to their discipline. These types of organizations provide employees with various educational and networking opportunities that we feel benefit both the employee and CEI.

  • Educational Workshops/Seminars - Employees receive reimbursement for educational events attended that relate to their area of expertise. In some cases this includes paid day out of work to attend a workshop or a seminar that will help improve job skills. The entire CEI team can benefit from these events since information learned at these forums is transferred to other employees with materials logged into the CEI resource library for the entire CEI Team to access.

  • Technical Papers/Presentations - All employees are encouraged to establish a field of expertise and work their way to become a leader in this field. We feel that writing technical articles, whether it be for a local paper or major publication, is a major part of an employee's professional development. The same rings true for presentations at workshops, seminars, trade shows and regional events. All of these present an opportunity to transfer technical information to other CEI team members, the client community and maintain CEI as a leader in the industry.

  • In-House Working Groups - CEI has several in-house working committees ;where a group of CEI employees with a common interest meet periodically to discuss a specific topic. Typically, this leads to the development of an innovative product, experimental projects, or a white paper. Recent topics have included Stormwater BMP Design Criteria and Residential Raingardens.
